On the Chicago lakefront, Quinn Wunar caught a double striped stillhead trout, his “favorite fish by far.”
Quinn Wunar said on Twitter Saturday, “I’ve caught a lot of fish here in Chicago, but this double-striped winter steelhead at Burnham is my favorite.”
He could see the bottom of 20 feet below the water.
As he messaged, he saw a giant steelhead run two coho off his spawn sac while spot fishing. I was admiring the fish’s size when it turned back and struck my bag. Although the fight was epic, the net job was the toughest with the water being the lowest it has been in a few years. Nevertheless, we both survived, so we can fight another day.”
Three years ago, Edi Habibovic caught the last double-striped steelhead submitted for FOTW.

It was the first double-striped steelhead submitted to the Sun-Times for Fish of the Week honors in three years.
