Earlier this month, a 15-year-old Arkansas angler’s line became stuck on what he initially thought was a log while casting for crappie.
As the log began to move, Logan Cernosek realized it was a huge fish, he told the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
Logan caught the largemouth bass on April 2 at an undisclosed location in Randolph County. It weighed 12 pounds, 4 ounces, placing him among a select few in the state who have caught bass over 10 pounds.
Fisheries Division stated on Facebook: “The fish was weighed on a portable scale and then released to grow even bigger. Logan said he never thought he would catch a bass this big.”
Its not common but it does happen. Sometimes anglers fishing for other species come across giant bass just like this one here. As most of us anglers know bass tend to hit anything that moves on the water. They have a very high prey drive and are known to bite on things that are bigger than them at times. This 15-year-old sure had a day he will remember and a story to tell. We also know that Arkansas is known for having some huge lunkers in the lakes throughout the state. And as a good angler has its secret spots for sure we won’t know where Logan got his lunker from. Keep chasing them and congrats on your big catch Logan.
