WORLD RECORD: HEAVIEST LARGEMOUTH BASS

WORLD RECORD: HEAVIEST LARGEMOUTH BASS

The excitement and adrenaline of catching a large bass is indescribable, and I’m sure that it’s nothing compared to what Manabu Kurita felt when he reeled in an ever bigger largemouth bass from Lake Biwa, Japan.

This fish technically tied the previous record set by George Perry in Montgomery Lake, Georgia in 1932, as it was only one ounce heavier.

That being said, I doubt the collective weight of all my catches would even come close to that world-record breaking fish.

Take a look at this.

The hog weighed about 22.4 pounds and was 29 inches long for those of us in the United States who don’t speak metric.

IGFA reports that Perry’s record fish weighed 10.09 kilograms, close, but not enough to tie. Even though I don’t speak Japanese, I think I can probably guess what they’re so excited about. That’s, quite simply, the biggest bass in the world.
